Samantha Irvin Announces Her Departure From WWE

Samantha Irvin‘s time with WWE has come to an end.

Irvin announced the news in a tweet on October 21. She wrote that her time as the WWE RAW ring announcer had come to an end, and she said that she loved everyone. Irvin said that this did not mark the end of her art, as she had a lifetime more to share. She went on to thank everyone before encouraging her fans to stay tuned.

Irvin joined WWE as the ring announcer for 205 Live in April 2021, and she later joined NXT. She was promoted to SmackDown in January 2022, and she moved to WWE RAW in February 2023. Irvin notably introduced 14 matches across two nights at WWE WrestleMania 40 in April.

As of this writing, there is no word on who will replace Irvin as the WWE RAW ring announcer. Further details regarding Irvin’s WWE departure are currently unclear. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Reported Details On Reactions To Samantha Irvin’s Exit

Update: WrestleVotes reported that the news of Irvin’s departure genuinely shocked a lot of people backstage at WWE RAW on October 21.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported an update as well. Sapp wrote that everyone he spoke to in WWE had high praise for Irvin, both before and after she announced her departure.

Per Sapp, many WWE staffers were surprised by her exit, and one said that her “presence made the work day better.” Meanwhile, others close to Irvin claimed that they knew this had been coming for a month. Many sources said that they expected her to leave WWE after her fiancé, Ricochet, did.

Sapp also wrote that sources in both WWE and AEW said they would be shocked if AEW did not attempt to bring her in. Ricochet recently signed with AEW; he made his debut at AEW All In in August.
