WWE Announces November 6 NXT Taping At The Former ECW Arena In Philadelphia

NXT is going to the land of extreme, at least for one week.

On Monday, WWE confirmed it will hold an NXT television taping at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The taping will take place on Wednesday, November 6. The episode will air live on The CW that night.

“The city of Philadelphia has a rich wrestling history, and we are excited to bring a night of unforgettable action to such a storied venue,” said WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.

F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported last week (via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter) that WWE had a booking at the 2300 Arena. The date was not confirmed, but “there’s a belief” that it would be on Wednesday, November 6. The reasoning given for the date change from NXT’s traditional Tuesday night timeslot was to avoid going head-to-head with 2024 Presidential Election coverage.

Although NXT avoids going against election coverage, the November 6 episode of NXT will go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. It is speculated that NXT will load up this show, which is the first time WWE will tape one of its shows at the ECW Arena.

Ticket On-Sale Information

Tickets for the event will go on sale tomorrow, October 22 at noon ET on 2300arena.com. An exclusive presale for the event will begin tomorrow at 10 am ET. Fans can gain access to the pre-sale using the code NXTLIVE.

Shawn Michaels on NXT road trips

Shawn Michaels discussed NXT going on the road during a recent appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show. Michaels loves getting opportunities to take NXT on the road, but also wants to keep it special.

“I sort of look at NXT as the NCAA, to the NFL. If Raw and SmackDown are the NFL, NXT to me is the NCAA. I think that the NCAA is a brand. They still put 100,000 people in a stadium every Saturday afternoon. So, I think there’s an opportunity for NXT to go out on a more regular basis. But I personally would like to keep that special. I never wanna venture too far from our home here in Florida. That’s one of the things that makes us different.

“We have an environment unlike any other. It’s intimate and I think we’re able to do things here that other wrestling programs and other brands can’t do and that affords us the luxury of having some of those options that we have here in Orlando that you wouldn’t have at various arenas across the nation because you never know what you might be getting so to speak so, as much as I do wanna continue to grow NXT and I believe we will, I personally don’t ever wanna get to where we’re venturing out of here too often because this is our home and this is where NXT was built and I think we should continue to build here.”
