WWE SmackDown Viewership Decreases On 10/18, Demo Also Drops

WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on October 18.

According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.378 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.42 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership number is down from last week’s episode when an average of 1.652 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.49 rating in the same demographic. 

SmackDown ranked #3 in primetime and #6 in the demographic on Friday. The show was up against college football and the ALCS game between the Yankees and the Mets, as well as the NLCS game between the Dodgers and the Mets. SmackDown ranked ahead of the WNBA finals game. This marked the last-watched episode of SmackDown since the show returned to USA Network in September.

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a promo from The Bloodline, Jey Uso appears from RAW and tries to talk some sense into Solo Sikoa but it doesn’t work out.

DIY defeated Pretty Deadly and The Street Profits in a triple-threat match. They earned a tag team title contender’s match next week.

Later on in the show, Motor City Machine Guns made their WWE debut and defeated A-Town Down Under and Los Garza. They will face DIY next week on SmackDown for a future title shot against The Bloodline.

The closing segment saw Solo Sikoa confront Roman Reigns. Reigns refused to acknowledge Sikoa as his Tribal Chief and he and Jimmy were beatdown by The Bloodline once again.
