Mark Briscoe recalls getting into scraps outside of the ring with his late brother, Jay.
Mark and Jay Briscoe were top stars in ROH for years. They held the tag team titles 13 times, and they also captured gold in other promotions. Jay sadly passed away in January 2023, but Mark continues to wrestle. He is the reigning ROH World Champion.
In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Mark Briscoe was asked about a story that Ivar once told about how The Briscoes sometimes duked it out outside of the ring. He explained how they’d fight anywhere.
“It was all the time, man,” Mark Briscoe said. “People would get caught off guard because we’d snap at each other and be full-on, like these two crazy-looking dudes are about to brawl right here in the middle of whereever, fill in the blank, in the middle of the shopping mall, in the middle of TGI Friday’s, in the middle of the airport, wherever it may be.
“Then it’d be like, ‘Boom,’ then we’re good, and we’re back to…because that’s how we’ve always been. He’s say something stupid like he usually did, and I’d tell him he was stupid, and then he’d tell me his little piece, and then boom, and then we’d click right back in. Or vice versa, of course.”
