Tully Blanchard Claims He Was Fired By AEW For Missing One Event

Tully Blanchard claims AEW released him for missing one event.

Blanchard was featured in All Elite Wrestling between 2019 and 2022. He was originally paired with Shawn Spears and FTR during his tenure and later moved on to form “Tully Blanchard Enterprises” on the Ring Of Honor brand. Blanchard’s group was then sold to Prince Nana at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022. Nana rebranded them as “The Embassy” and Blanchard never returned to TV.

Now, Blanchard claims that AEW fired him for missing one event during a recent episode of his Tully Vision series on AdFreeShows.com. The Four Horsemen co-founder was describing how he didn’t have to plan out matches and he, along with other Horsemen, could work based on the crowd’s reaction. He says that was “oil and water” compared to working with AEW talent, who were trained differently.

“But, it all worked out good, and I got on TV for a little while. I was on with some very great talent and was thrilled to do that. And then [long pause], you miss a show and you get fired.” [laughs]

Tully Blanchard has previously addressed his AEW departure

Last year, Blanchard commented on his departure during an appearance on Wrestling Shoot Interviews. Here, Blanchard claimed someone in AEW didn’t like his on-air work.

“Obviously somebody didn’t like what I was doing, or lack of what I was doing,” Blanchard said.

In July 2022, Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Blanchard didn’t attend Death Before Dishonor the night prior. It was noted that there were “mixed messages” about why he was not backstage. Some sources claimed Blanchard wasn’t there because of his prison ministry group, while others claimed he simply no-showed the event. Despite the lack of clarity about his absence, ROH staff and talent were told that Blanchard was effectively gone, and wouldn’t factor into future plans.
