FTR Share A Heartfelt Thank You To Fans For Their Support During Hurricane Helene

The people of Western North Carolina are currently suffering due to the devastating Hurricane Helene. Former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR recently shared a heartfelt message to the people who have shown immense support during these difficult times.

Following their appearance on last night’s AEW Dynamite, FTR shared a message with the fans. Cash Wheeler while upset about the disaster, saw the silver lining in people in all the small town joining forces to help each other out.

“We both fortunately are a lot luckier than a lot of people in Western North Carolina. There’s a lot of people that have lost everything. They’ve lost homes, they’ve lost lives, they’ve lost loved ones, pets, the things you can never replace. So, it’s been a crazy couple of weeks to be in the midst of it all. And to see… Just to see how devastated the whole area is. But at the same time, it’s been very uplifting to see the communities rally together in these small towns like Old Fort, and Swannanoa, and Fairview, and Spruce Pine, and Burnsville.

“And it’s just… It gives you a little bit of hope and it’s going to be years but, I just want to thank everybody that’s donated in any way, shape, or form. That’s shared the word, that’s gotten the word out there about the damage and the devastation in the area. So thank you all for any donation, for anything you have done. Thank you, guys, for checking up on us and worried about us. But keep your thoughts and your prayers for the people still going through everything,” Cash Wheeler said.

FTR’s Dax Harwood thanks the people for all their support

Dax Harwood also shared a message to the fans.

“I think it puts a lot of stuff into perspective. Real-life stuff into perspective. There’s not a lot of times that FTR comes out here and we are not talking about the AEW World Tag Team Championships, or not talking about our legacy, or not talking about wanting to be the greatest tag team of all time. But going through this and seeing what the aftermath of the Hurricane Helene did to our little community is devastating of course. But like Cash said, seeing everybody Rally together, seeing people come together who normally wouldn’t have a conversation, wouldn’t help each other out. That was the most inspiring thing to me.”

Harwood also mentioned that wrestling last night made him realize that for a brief moment the wrestlers play a role in helping people forget about the real-life traumas.

“And then today, coming back to work, coming back to Dynamite. It made me realize what professional wrestling is. A release. It is a release for people from the real-life world for one minute. For one minute. I guess, technically two hours a night. But for one minute, we get to be these people’s heroes. And that’s almost unfortunate because I watched real-life heroes. And I want to say thank you all, again as Cash said, for the donations, helping us out, being supportive, and thank you for loving us. Because without this platform, without these fans, without you supporting the brand of FTR, a lot of people would not have had a lot things that they needed. So, we appreciate that, we love you, we respect you. And I can’t wait to be AEW Champions again. Sorry, I had to get it out,” Dax Harwood said.
