Dalton Castle Confirms He Suffered Torn Bicep, Hopes To Return In January

Dalton Castle details how he got hurt in a freak accident.

Dalton Castle has been out of action since July, as he suffered an injury during his match against Roderick Strong at the July 10 taping of AEW Collision.

Speaking on the Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend, Dalton Castle discussed the injury and noted that it was a freak accident. (H/t Jack Wannan of POST Wrestling)

“It was the last match I had,” Castle said. “The guy I was wrestling, just a little freak accident happened, then it [left bicep] hurt. I was freaking out. The guy I was wrestling with took a cheap shot at me, or advantage of the situation. It sucks. I was supposed to go hiking the next day in Calgary. I lost the match, and then I lost my hiking trip and now I spend every day in physical therapy, and on the weekends I go antiquing.

“That’s where I find my happy place, buying old mugs … The injury wasn’t his fault, but he just didn’t back down after. I thought we were friends, me and this guy. I was like ‘Hey, I need a second.’ He was like ‘No, no timeouts.’ … I don’t want to get into it.”

Dalton Castle On His Potential Return

Castle noted that he hopes to return in January. Meanwhile, he explained that he is trying to stay away from wrestling right now, aside from supporting his friends. He noted that the time off “sucks”, and he sometimes gets angry about the setback.

“I try not to think about it too much,” Castle said, about wrestling. “The time off sucks. I’m just focusing on enjoying the time off and working on getting better and not watching what’s going on in wrestling and trying to keep my mind off it. Except [for when] my friends will do something cool and I’ll have to watch it and get sucked in, and get excited, and then I recognize that I’m still very much hurt and get angry. It’s this weird rollercoaster cycle of emotions.”

Castle is a former ROH World Champion and ROH World Television Champion. He is also a two-time ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion.

WrestleZone wishes Dalton Castle well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
