Ethan Page will challenge for the NXT Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc.
Trick Williams won the NXT Championship by beating Ethan Page on the October 1 episode of WWE NXT. Page made it clear that he wanted his rematch, but other contenders emerged as well. Wes Lee targeted the title after he defeated Zachary Wentz on the October 1 episode of NXT. Meanwhile, Je’Von Evans had a remarkable performance against Randy Orton the following week.
On the October 15 episode of WWE NXT, Ethan Page faced Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans in a Number One Cotender’s Match for the NXT Championship. All three stars battled back and forth in a hard-fought match. Evans nearly scored the win with an acrobatic kick to Lee. Page went for the Ego’s Edge, but Evans escaped. Evans then hit Lee with a cutter. Page slammed Lee, and Evans kicked him out of the ring. Evans then hit a corkscrew dive, but Page rolled him up for the win.
After the match, Page called out NXT Champion Trick Williams. They spun the wheel for their match, and it landed on a Devil’s Playground Match. Page blindsided Williams by hitting him with a spotlight, and he posed with the title as NXT came to an end.
