AEW WrestleDream saw chaos erupt following a match for the AEW TNT Championship, as MJF and Adam Cole both returned to stir up some issues.
Following Perry retaining his belt against Katsuyori Shibata, Perry began ambushing Shibata, causing Daniel Garcia to come running down to the ring and make him flee. However, MJF soon followed Garcia, and as the crowd went wild, MJF got into the ring to stare down Garcia. In another moment of chaos, Perry came back into the ring and hit Garcia in the back with his belt, before leaving the pair in the ring.
MJF then got to work attacking Garcia, before getting on the mic. MJF said he’s been doing a lot since his break, and went on to mock the crowd a bit before saying that he was able to track down his Dynamite Diamond ring from that pawn shop in Buffalo. He put it on and told Garcia to be ready to kiss it, but just as he was set to place it on his middle finger, Adam Cole’s music hits.
With the crowd going crazy and MJF stunned, Cole came out and promptly began sprinting down to the ring. MJF ran off, and as Cole got into the ring, he helped Garcia to his feet as the crowd cheered.
For both men, it had been quite a bit of time since they had appeared on TV. MJF had been out since AEW All Out, where he took a piledriver off the middle rope from Garcia and had to be stretchered out of the arena. As for Cole, he’d been gone since AEW Double or Nothing, and suffered an ankle injury at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2023 that forced him to miss several appearances in the ring as well.
