AEW Rampage Results

The Conglomeration and Undisputed Kingdom Go At It

The Conglomeration and Undisputed Kingdom opened this one up, and The Conglomeration did it with a big win. Late in the match, Cassidy hit a big stunner but was quickly dropped by a piledriver by Mike Bennett. O’Reilly then flipped Bennett into Orange Cassidy, who hit him with an Orange Beach Break. O’Reilly then locked in a guillotine choke on Bennett, and Cassidy knocked Taven down with an Orange Punch while Bennett tapped out.

Winners – The Conglomeration

Grade: B-

This was a solid starter, and it’s nice to see Cassidy and O’Reilly continue to stack up big wins. Will be very interesting to see where the pair go from here as they continue to score big wins.

The Acclaimed Send a Message

The Acclaimed made their entrance down to the ring but were ambushed by MxM Collection. Mansoor threw Anthony Bowens into the entrance tunnel and then grabbed a microphone, and began mocking them. They said this is what happens when Daddy Ass isn’t around to help them, and they wanted to keep things light and fun, but The Acclaimed ruined their fashion show at Grand Slam so this is what they get. MxM said that at WrestleDream, they’re going to have even more for them.

Grade: B

The MxM and Acclaimed beef continues to be a funny one, and their future interactions are quickly becoming must-watch affairs in AEW.

Kris Statlander Makes Short of Amira

In a match that seemed more like a warm up bout for Statlander, she absolutely dominated Amira with Kamille watching from behind the scenes. Statlander hit a big vertical suplex and then her finisher for the immediate win.

Winner – Kris Statlander

Grade: C

Well, that was fast. Statlander made short work of Amira, and continues to look every bit as dominant as she has been throughout the past few weeks.

The Beast Mortos vs. The Butcher

The Beast Mortos and The Butcher are going at it right from the start. Things quickly get taken to outside of the ring, with Butcher delivering some big hits and a vicious clothesline to Mortos against the edge of the apron. As we go to commercial break, Butcher continues to work over Beast, but Mortos gets in a few hits to get things going. The two continue to scrap outside of the ring, with Butcher trying his best to rip off Mortos’ mask.

Coming out of the break, action gets back into the ring and the pair take each other out with dueling clotheslines. In the end, Mortos was able to drop Butcher and then got on top of the ropes, and hit a spinning slam right onto Butcher’s head for the win.

Grade: B

A solid match between two of the biggest bruisers in the company, but there was nothing too special about this one at the end of the day. It was nice to see both giant behemoths go at it, though.

Lance Archer Dominates Again

Archer and Matt Brannigan went at it for all of a few minutes before Archer ended things. Lance spent most of the match basically taunting Brannigan to hit him and then laughing things off, before ending the match with his Blackout finisher.

Grade: C

Another fairly easy squash match, which is never too fun to see. Archer continues to build a strong resume in the ring, though, so it’ll be interesting to see what he gets up to in the future.

Bryan Keith and Rocky Romero Go At It

Keith and Romero are here to close out the show, and they bring some entertainment to the match immediately. Things get taken out of the ring early, and Romero hits a huge hurricanrana off the steps on him. Keith tries to get into the ring and slide on the other side, but Romero sends him flying into the barricade with a sliding kick. Romero tries to get another big splash off the steel steps, but Keith catches it and flips him back directly onto the mat.

We go to commercial break with the pair fighting outside, but they eventually make their way back inside the ring. Romero gets thrown into the corner as Keith gets the upper hand, and he’s taking it to Romero as the ref tries to get them to stop. As we come out of break, Keith gets a kick to the face as he tries to send Romero over the ropes, and Romero gets going with a series of slaps before sending the superstar into the turnbuckle for some stomps.

Late in the match, both superstars are clearly exhausted, but Romero finds some late strength for a high-flying, spinning slam onto Keith for a near fall. Romero goes up to the top rope for a move, but Keith recovers fast enough to get up and catch him. Keith turns Romero around and tries to set up a move, but Romero counters it into a massive stunner-esque move off the top rope. He goes for the pin but Keith rolls off and out of the ring. Romero is nursing his knee but gets up and goes flying through the ropes onto Keith anyway, then throws him back into the ring.

As he’s getting into the ring, Big Bill appears and drops Romero with a superkick while the ref isn’t looking, and Keith hits a running kick to Romero in the corner before hitting the Diamond Dust for the pin and win. Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly come running down to make sure Bill and Keith can’t keep going with Romero.

Winner – Bryan Keith

Grade: B+

This was a really solid match to end the night, and set up some fun stuff for tomorrow’s WrestleDream. Keith and Romero were putting on a show for the fans at every turn, and the ending set up the potential for even more shenanigans down the line.

AEW Rampage Review

Grade: C+

All in all, this was not one of AEW’s better shows. Things felt more like a going home show for WrestleDream than anything, and with 2-3 squash matches that lasted no more than a minute or two, it was hard to really take anything away from this one.
