Bryan Danielson Started Losing Strength In His Legs In Okada Match

Bryan Danielson may be in worse shape than fans expected.

The American Dragon has been in incredible form this year, with all-time great matches with the likes of Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland. He beat the latter at Wembley Stadium to win the AEW Championship, his first title since leaving the WWE to join AEW.

He faced Kazuchika Okada on the October 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, with both the AEW World and Continental Championships on the line.

After a gruelling match that lasted longer than twenty minutes, Bryan Danielson pinned Kazuchika Okada. Due to the stipulation, he only walked away with the one title belt. However, that wasn’t all he took away from the bout.

Bryan Danielson spoke with Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of Uncrowned recently about his recent match with Kazuchika Okada. He admitted that he began losing strength in his leg during the match, which was caused by his neck issues. The AEW Champion added that he hasn’t been sleeping well, and that he’s “seeing the signs” of his injuries more and more.

“Midway through the match, I started losing strength in my legs.” Bryan Danielson admitted. “There’s a point later in the match where I’m trying to kick him and I can’t turn over my kicks. That’s something that I have the body mechanics to do because I have been doing it for so long, but here I am and I can’t turn my hip over for this kick.

“When I got to the back, I went to the trainer right away and they worked on me for like 30 minutes. They said it was stemming from the neck stuff. It’s getting to a point where, physically, we’re seeing the signs. I haven’t been sleeping well because I have been having this shooting pain down my arm.”
