New Details On MJF’s Role In Happy Gilmore 2, When He Might Return To AEW

MJF is making the most of his run in Hollywood.

Last month, Deadline reported MJF joined the cast of Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2. Mike Johnson of PWInsider followed up by reporting that MJF will play Gordie Gilmore, one of Happy Gilmore’s sons, in the film.

According to a new report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), Max has a “significant role” in the movie. The movie was initially reported to film through November in New Jersey. Max has reportedly been on set since going on hiatus from AEW at All Out.

Despite being expected back to AEW “sooner rather than later”, there is no specific date locked in for his on-air return.

More details on MJF’s upcoming movies

In addition to Happy Gilmore 2, MJF landed two other supporting roles in upcoming movies. First, he landed an unknown role in Stranglehold, a comedic thriller featuring Justin Long and Ron Perlman. Stranglehold has a connection with the pro wrestling world, as Ryan Nemeth and Kayla Becker (fka Kayla Braxton) are also part of the cast. Nemeth is credited as “Leon’s Dude Terry” while Becker is listed as “Crystal.”

MJF will also appear in The Floaters, a Jewish summer camp comedy from Jackie Tohn starring Seth Green and Aya Cash.

MJF has not been seen in AEW since last month’s All Out pay-per-view. Max defeated Daniel Garcia on the show, but he was seemingly written off of television in a post-match angle.

Ryan and Nic Nemeth had a very ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’-esque debut in Japan
