Tony Khan highlights how Adam Copeland helped out with hurricane relief.
Adam Copeland recently said that Tony Khan sent Starlink devices to the Asheville police department to help with hurricane relief efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene.
During the AEW WrestleDream media call, Tony Khan discussed Hurricane Helene and the looming arrival of Hurricane Milton.
“This has been, if I may say, one of the worst tragedies in American history is what’s happening with the hurricanes,” Tony Khan said. “It really puts everything in perspective, doesn’t it? It was interesting to come to work knowing that a lot of my friends and a lot of coworkers and people from AEW have not been not been able to travel to the shows in recent weeks, it puts it all in perspective, doesn’t it? It’s touching all of us. It’s a small world.”
Tony Khan On Adam Copeland
After noting that there were travel issues that affected the show, it was a blessing to be able to come to work and work in wrestling, Khan said he prayed for everyone affected. He also brought up Adam Copeland’s comments and said that Copeland was helping the FEMA workers.
“Someone had brought up earlier on the call what Adam had said,” Khan said. “I never asked Adam to say that, [and] I think I’ll say something about Adam that he would never ask for the credit [for]. I talked to Adam, and I was dealing with a bit of a scramble of [travel issues]. Adam called me last week backstage at Collision, and he was with the FEMA workers, and he was working with them.
“He was helping them, and they were digging bodies out, and they were dealing with the terrible, terrible, tragedy. Here I am, six cups of coffee in, pulling my hair out because people’s flights got canceled and they aren’t able to travel to the show. It’s like we can work around this, we can make solutions that will make everybody happy. It was the exact same experience we had in the pandemic.”
Khan reiterated that it was a blessing to be able to work in wrestling, and he also credited Copeland, FTR, and others with their help in the relief efforts.
