The 10-woman tag team match on the October 7 episode of WWE RAW was the source of some frustration, according to a new report.
Monday’s show marked the beginning of a new chapter for WWE. RAW shifted to a two-hour format for the remainder of its time on USA Network before the show moves to Netflix. This was clearly an adjustment. Many fans complained about the flow and the amount of commercials. The 10-woman tag team match, in which Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega, Natalya, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter defeated Pure Fusion Collective and Unholy Union, was especially impacted.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that there was some frustration internally with the booking of the women’s match, the “perceived lack of direction” for those involved, and a commercial taking up most of the match.
Sapp also writes that there were some growing pains with the shift back to two hours. However, the change to formatting wasn’t as difficult, as SmackDown has been a two-hour show for over two decades.
