Swerve Strickland secures the bag.
AEW previously announced that Swerve Strickland had signed a new contract with the company at AEW All In. Now, it’s official.
In a tweet, former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland shared a video that showed him signing his new AEW contract. In the post, he wrote, “History made! One of the most lucrative wrestling contracts in the industry finalized right here at the @comicconla! Shout out to the man Tony Richa for making this happen and my homies @ZOMBIEJuicee and @flashgarments being here to witness this moment. Let’s go @AEW”.
Swerve Strickland Is Happy With Building AEW
During a recent appearance on Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM, Swerve Strickland was asked about potentially returning to WWE. He emphasized that he was happy with AEW.
“I’m happy with building AEW. I’m happy with building myself. AEW is giving me something that I don’t think WWE could ever give me. And I’m really proud of that. I wave the flag proudly because Tony Khan didn’t take a chance on me—he knew what he wanted from me. He put me in the position and said, ‘Now grow,'”
“I was like, ‘Okay, what avenues do I have to grow?’ He said, ‘Whatever you want.’ There were no parameters, no red tape, and I learned how to become a true businessman on top of being a professional wrestler. That’s why the Mogul persona is truly personified in AEW—it literally lets me be my best self, both as a man and a professional.”
