Cody Rhodes knows how significant it would be to be the one who takes The Bloodline down.
Rhodes has been feuding with The Bloodline for well over a year. He lost to Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 39, and he had to wait a year to get a rematch. Rhodes then dethroned Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. The rivalry has continued, as Rhodes has clashed with Solo Sikoa. Meanwhile, The Rock has made it clear that he’s coming for Rhodes as well.
Speaking with Cameron Hawkins for Complex ahead of WWE Bad Blood, Cody Rhodes commented on potentially taking down The Bloodline.
“If anything, maybe my job is just to be the one who beats them,” Cody Rhodes said.”It’s one of the greatest sagas in the history of not just pro-wrestling and sports entertainment and entertainment in general. If I get to be the guy who came in and beat them, gosh, I know that sounds. It might sound a little aggressive, but certainly it’s family business until they involve me.”
At WWE Bad Blood, Rhodes and Reigns beat Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The Rock returned and stared down the duo after the match.
Cody Rhodes On Being The WWE Champion
Rhodes also commented on being the WWE Champion. He highlighted the standard that John Cena set and noted that one had to represent WWE ar all times.
“‘Hey, if you want the spot, if you want the ball, you have to work to my level’, was something you’d hear him say in interviews, and it was very real, very,” Rhodes said. “And there was nobody who could match it at the time. In terms of being WWE champion, you have to represent WWE at all times.”
