Nia Jax: My Time Away From WWE Was Probably The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me

WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax reflects on her release and explains why it was beneficial.

WWE released Niax Jax in November 2021, but she returned in September 2023. Since then, she has had a remarkable run, as she won the Queen of the Ring tournament. Jax later captured the WWE Women’s Championship at WWE SummerSlam.

In a video with Cathy Kelly that WWE shared on their YouTube channel, Nia Jax reflected on her time away from WWE.

“It was probably the best thing that ever happened to me,” Jax said. “At first, yes, it was definitely difficult to sit there and realize I won’t be out there entertaining everybody on the road and enjoying the travels. But it actually helped restore my passion and love for wrestling because I felt like I was starting to lose a little bit of the why.

“So I tell people all the time, it was one of the best things that happened to me. I felt like I reset Nia Jax. Now, I’m the best Nia Jax ever. I’m only getting better. It was something because I needed to take that little bit of time off and find myself again.”

Jax will defend her title against Bayley at WWE Bad Blood on October 5.
