Shelton Benjamin Makes AEW Debut, Aligns With MVP On 10/2 AEW Dynamite

Shelton Benjamin has arrived in AEW.

MVP debuted at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, and he gave his business card to Prince Nana. He made it clear that he was interested in potentially talking business with Swerve Strickland.

One week later, on the October 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, MVP appeared in a backstage segment, and he was interrupted by Prince Nana. Nana expressed his frustration with MVP and noted that he would lace his boots up for MVP. MVP responded by saying that he didn’t deal with complaints, but “he” did. He introduced Shelton Benjamin as his business partner and the president of their complaint department. Benjamin stared Nana down and took his coffee.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Benjamin signed with AEW a couple of weeks prior to his debut. Sapp previously wrote that MVP, Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley were in talks with AEW, and Benjamin’s signing was confirmed after MVP’s debut.

Benjamin briefly commented on his signing in a tweet.

Benjamin previously had two lengthy stints in WWE. He is a former WWE United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and three-time Tag Team Champion. WWE released him in a wave of cuts in September 2023. In recent months, he has been wrestling on the independent scene.
