Pro-Wrestling Australia is once again preparing for its biggest weekend of the year.
Next weekend, Pro-Wrestling Australia will host a two-day event, titled Colosseum, complete with an eight-person tournament, a PWA Heavyweight Championship match, and the return of Grayson Waller. Colosseum will begin on Saturday, October 12 and culminate on Sunday, October 13.
Prior to signing with WWE in 2021, Waller rose through the ranks of the Australian wrestling scene, which included PWA. On October 12, Waller returns to PWA for a singles match against his former protege Jimmy Townsend.
“I was there at your first training session, Jimmy, I saw something in you,” Waller said in a press release. “Who was it who got you backstage at WWE’s Elimination Chamber, and all you could do was wig out because you saw Logan Paul over there?! I’m not afraid of you Jimmy, I’m afraid of what I will do to you. Maybe it’s time to see if you can swim in the deep end. Be careful what you wish for!”
Elsewhere on Saturday’s card, PWA will kick off its 2024 Colosseum tournament with four first-round matches. Competitors in this year’s tournament include PWA Heavyweight Champion Jessica Troy, Charli Evans, Lena Kross, former PWA Tag Team Champion Kai Drake, and Big Fudge. The full breakdown of the opening-round matchups for this tournament is as follows:
- PWA Heavyweight Championship: Jessica Troy (c) vs. Charli Evans
- Lena Kross vs. Tommy Knight
- Big Fudge vs. Ricky Utomi
- Kai Drake vs. Robbie Thorpe
As denoted in bold, the 2024 Colosseum tournament comes with an added layer, as Jessica Troy will also defend her PWA Heavyweight Championship against “The Violence Artist” and long-time friend Charli Evans in the opening round.
The semi-final and final round matches of the Colosseum tournament will take place on night two of the event. Also on night two, host of “The Bye Round” James Graham makes his in-ring debut alongside former PWA Heavyweight Champion Jack J. Bonza. Graham and Bonza will take on Ricky South and Backman. Elsewhere in tag team action, The Dropouts (Scott Green & The Tuckman) will face North Shore Wrestling (Sam Osborne & Will Kiedis).
PWA Colosseum will emanate from the Metro Theatre in Sydney, Australia
