CM Punk brought Trick Williams pizza to celebrate winning the NXT Championship.
The former WWE Champion was the special guest referee for the NXT title match this week. He counted the pin that saw Trick Williams win his second NXT Championship, beating Ethan Page to win the belt.
In an NXT Exclusive on YouTube, Trick Williams was interviewed following his NXT title win. He thanked Chicago for their support, and welcomed fans “to the CW” after their debut on the network.
“Chicago is love. This is my first time in Chicago, and they showed me love—I forever appreciate that. Chicago, thank y’all. But as we said, as I told y’all, I was going back to get my baby. Look at this thing, it’s pretty, ain’t it? Y’all got the new title, man. Hey, welcome to the CW, we in here.”
Trick Williams was interrupted by CM Punk, who brought him a pizza to celebrate with.
“This isn’t about me—I realize I’m still wearing my work clothes. I know this is your first time in Chicago, and I know we talked about this before, you’ve never had the pizza. So, I got you some Lou Malnati‘s. The champ of pizza for the champ of NXT.”
Trick Williams called the pizza “scrumptious” before CM Punk spoke about refereeing the match.
“I’ve done everything in this building I think you could possibly do. So to be a referee in front of that hometown crowd, any chance I get to be in front of that crowd, electric. I’ll take it; it’s absolutely stunning, right? The place is amazing, they love Trick, they love wrestling.”

Trick Williams, with a mouthful of pizza, thanks a number of staff at NXT for getting him to this moment. He shouted out Shawn Michaels, Matt Bloom and Terry Taylor for their involvement. This was followed by a shout-out to “All Ego” Ethan Page, who he thanked for showing up to drop the belt to him.
“Man, all jokes aside, man, we going to the CW, we taking the NXT to great heights. Man, shout out to all the coaching staff, shout out to Shawn Michaels, shout out to Matt Bloom, shout out to Terry Taylor. Giving me an opportunity, you know what I mean? And I’m gonna take care of this thing with my life. Shout out to All Ego, man, I’m glad you showed up today.”
