Billy Corgan says he bought the NWA to bring it back to the top, and they’re going to do that.
The October 1 episode of NWA Powerrr marked the beginning of the presentation of NWA 76. NWA President Billy Corgan kicked off the show. Corgan discussed NWA’s history and stated that he bought the company to bring it back to the top. He also said that as long as he owned it, the company was not going anywhere.
“Seven years ago, I took a leap and I bought the National Wrestling Alliance,” Billy Corgan said. “As many of you know, the NWA is the spiritual home to so many legends. Dory and Terry Funk, Ric Flair, Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, Mildred Burke, so many legends. Because this is the oldest wrestling brand in the world. 76 years and counting, 76 years of continuous operation in the professional wrestling game.
“I bought this company to bring it back to the top, and we are going to do that. Because as long as I own the National Wrestling Alliance, we aren’t going anywhere, we can’t be stopped. We are wrestling history, we are wrestling as it’s meant to be. If any man wants to come out and try to take the NWA from me, he’ll have to do it or she’ll have to do it out of my cold, dead hands.”
