Winning the ‘Burke’ would mean a great deal to Natalia Markova.
NWA 76 is currently airing across NWA Powerrr on X. This week’s episode will feature the Burke Invitational Gauntlet, with the winner earning an NWA World Women’s Championship match. Markova spoke with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone ahead of her match about what winning the battle royal and the championship would mean to her.
“That would mean a lot. Because, if you really follow my journey with NWA you will see that I had a lot of title shots and I was always really really close.” Natalia Markova said. “So, obviously I’m not gonna stop. And I know that one day I will win that title. It’s a matter of time. It’s a matter of effort and I know I will never stop putting effort. And that match [Battle Royal], I’m actually really excited about because there’s a lot of girls there. And winning that match means a lot you know?”
“It’s gonna be a huge match. So, I think that will be a huge win for me and I think that match is something definitely worth watching. And if I do win, that means I’ll get another title shot. Maybe this time I’ll finally get the title. So, my point is that, if I do win the title, that’s going to be another new era for NWA. It’s gonna be worth watching. Because again, I’d like to represent the brand really really well.”
Can Natalia Markova call her shot?
Natalia Markova doubts she can choose where to have her title match if she wins the battle royal. However, the NWA star hopes she can have it in her home state of Florida, while listing off other potential venues for the upcoming title match.
“I doubt that I can call my shot.” Natalia Markova said. “But if I could, probably Sarasota, Florida. Because Florida is my hometown or home state, so that would be a nice arena. Or maybe Dothan, Alabama. Because I remember when we went there last time, huge, huge crowd.
“The name by the way is, The Looks That Kill. The name of the show that’s going to take place there [on December 14, 2024]. So that would be a great time for me to win. Because that’s a tag team with me and Bryan Idol. It’s called The Looks That Kill. And the show named after us. That would be a nice moment.”
