Natsupoi Thinks Thekla Is Forcing Herself To Be An ‘Idol Killer’

Natsupoi believes that she is in relatively good terms with her former Donna Del Mondo ally Thekla ahead of their upcoming match. She will be defending her Wonder of Stardom Championship against Thekla at STARDOM‘s Nagoya Golden Fight on Saturday, October 5th.

Natsupoi spoke with Tokyo Sports to comment on her next defense. She believes that herself and Thekla share a similar wrestling style that worked to their advantage as tag partners in Donna Del Mondo. She adds that they had more goals to work together as a team. Unfortunately, she eventually left the faction to join her current Cosmic Angels group. Natsupoi then expressed feeling guilty for leaving her and Thekla’s dreams of being a team up in the air.

The Wonder of Stardom Champion also says that Thekla is forcing herself to be labeled as an “Idol Killer”. In Japanese pro-wrestling, idol culture is a common character that female wrestlers portray. This involves singing and dancing to cheerful music while dressed in extravagantly colored costumes and gear. H.A.T.E.’s Thekla made it a goal to rid the joshi wrestling scene of this culture. Nonetheless, Natsupoi responded saying “I felt like the Thekla we used to laugh together was the real deal, and even after she joined H.A.T.E., she always said kind things to me like, ‘You’re a good champion,’ or ‘Your belt is shining brightly,’ so I don’t think she’s doing anything bad willingly, and I feel like she’s forcing herself to do it.”

Natsupoi ends by saying that she has no ill feelings towards Thekla going into their white belt match. However, she is fully focused on successfully defending her title. She also looks forward to more challengers in the future.
