JBL refuses to rule out signing for AEW in the future.
The former WWE Champion has made numerous recent appearances outside of WWE, for the first time in years. He appeared in TNA and AAA alongside Nic Nemeth, helping the former WWE star to win world titles in both promotions.
He also made a shock run-in at GCW Homecoming Night 1, helping Mance Warner win a three-way ladder match. This was an incredibly shocking appearance, but JBL may have even more surprises yet to come.
JBL appeared on a live Q&A with Sportskeeda, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked if he wanted to appear for AEW in the future.
The former WWE Champion refused to rule it out. Despite being a “lifelong WWE guy”, he said “never say never” to JBL popping up in AEW in the future.
However, he also noted how he is incredibly loyal to the WWE after nearly thirty years with the company. It doesn’t look like JBL will appear for AEW, but anything can happen in the future.
“I didn’t tell anybody I was going to these other promotions, and I wouldn’t tell anybody if I was going there either. I’ve always been a lifelong WWE guy, and I’ve always been loyal to WWE, so probably not.”
“But as they say, you never say never. Hypothetically, WWE gave me my big break, and everything I have right now is because of WWE. I’m an incredibly loyal person to the institution—they’ve been absolutely wonderful to me. I could never see myself being somewhere else. Now, I’m not saying it wouldn’t happen, but that association for me, that’s almost a 30-year relationship.”
