AJ Styles is returning to WWE SmackDown.
Styles last wrestled on WWE programming at WWE Clash at the Castle, where he lost to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. He then competed at NOAH Destination 2024 on July 13, where he beat Naomichi Marufuji. Over the next few weeks, Styles wrestled at WWE live events, but he has otherwise been absent from WWE programming.
On the September 27 episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE announced that AJ Styles would return on the October 4 episode. The news was announced in a vignette, which used Styles’ old “Evil Ways” theme song.
