Bayley had earned a rematch for the WWE Women’s Championship, and she will challenge for the gold at WWE Bad Blood.
On the September 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, Bayley and Naomi faced WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. If Naomi and Bayley won, the competitor who scored the victory would earn a shot at Jax at WWE Bad Blood. Bayley and Naomi emerged victorious, but they both scored the win. This led to some confusion about who would challenge Jax.
Naomi and Bayley then clashed in a Number One Contender’s Match on the September 27 episode of WWE SmackDown. Bayley scored the win with a Bayley-to-Belly and a diving elbow drop. WWE subsequently confirmed that she will challenge Jax for the title at WWE Bad Blood.
Jax previously beat Bayley to win the WWE Women’s Championship at WWE SummerSlam.
