Maxwell Jacob Friedman, known as MJF in AEW, will be in “Happy Gilmore 2”.
Justin Kroll of Deadline reported the news, writing that MJF is joining Adam Sandler in the Netflix movie. Kroll writes that details regarding MJF’s role and the plot itself are unclear. The cast also includes Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald. Per Kroll, Sandler teased that NFL star Travis Kelce might have a cameo, while Bad Bunny has joined the cast as well.
Regarding MJF’s role, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that he is playing Gordie, one of Happy Gilmore’s sons in the film. Per Johnson, the film is shooting in New Jersey through November.
MJF served as an Executive Producer on “The Iron Claw”, and he had a small role in the film. He wrapped production on “The Floaters” in January, and he also landed a role in “Stranglehold”.
MJF has been absent from AEW since AEW All Out, where he defeated Daniel Garcia. Garcia attacked him and hit him with a top-rope piledriver after the match.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
