Vince McMahon says the opposite of what he thinks, he revealed in a bizarre admission.
The recent documentary Mr McMahon has uncovered lots of interesting and strange things about Vince McMahon. Whether it’s his attempt to do a storyline where he impregnates his daughter, or how he can’t distinguish between himself and his character, it gave an in-depth look into the former WWE Champion’s mind.
That is, until he admitted to saying the opposite of what he actually thinks.
Speaking on the Mr McMahon documentary on Netflix, Vince McMahon was asked whether he was being a hypocrite. This was because he criticized Eric Bischoff for poaching talent like Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in the 1990s, while he did the very same a decade earlier to rival promotions.
The former WWE Chairman seemed to reflect, but instantly dismissed the idea. Vince McMahon revealed that what he says is often “totally different to what I think”. This admission sort of spoils the whole point of the documentary, which was meant to explore the man behind the Mr McMahon character.
“The public doesn’t understand that sometimes.”
“Some would think it might be hypocritical for me to say, ‘Ok, I don’t hurt someone else. I just do what’s best for me.’ Yet, when someone comes after me, I don’t think they have the right. Sure, they have the right. What I say, a lot of times, is totally different than what I think. The public doesn’t understand that sometimes. As a businessman, you have to throw things out there. It’s not really the way you feel, but it controls the thought process by doing that.” McMahon said (H/T Fightful).
The Mr. McMahon documentary featured many interesting talking points, including Vince admitting he unsuccessfully pitched an incest storyline with his daughter, Stephanie.
