Kenny Omega reunited with Hiroshi Tanahashi.
On social media, NJPW shared a brief teaser for a meeting between Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi. In the video, Tanahashi references his 2019 match against Omega, which was his last bout in NJPW before he joined AEW. He also says that he’s excited to see Omega. The video ends with the two meeting, and a “Reunion” message appears on the screen.
The post included “Coming soon”, as well as the hashtag “wrestledynasty”. The Wrestle Dynasty event on January 5 will feature talent from NJPW, AEW, STARDOM, ROH, and CMLL.
Tanahashi was named the President and Representative Director in December 2023. He has become a key part of the working relationship between AEW and NJPW. Omega remains sidelined after he underwent surgery due to diverticulitis, but he has been training in recent weeks.
