Mariah May reunited with Mina Shirakawa at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, but the STARDOM star did not look thrilled.
At AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Mariah May defeated Yuka Sakazaki to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship. She was about to attack Sakazaki after the bell, but Willow Nightingale made the save. Shirakawa’s music played, and Nightingale was distracted. May then attacked Nightingale from behind.
Mina came to the stage, and she looked displeased with May’s actions. May then celebrated with Shirakawa and fled when Sakazaki charged up the ramp.
May has been asking Shirakawa to come back in recent weeks. The duo are former tag team partners, and Shirakawa had been part of May’s storyline with Toni Storm. She unsuccessfully challenged Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. May beat Storm for the title at AEW All In, and Shirakawa’s feelings about her betrayal of Storm had been left unclear.
