Oba Femi will defend the gold on the October 8 episode of WWE NXT.
Femi previously defeated Tony D’Angelo to retain the NXT North American Championship at NXT No Mercy. D’Angelo has continued to target the title, though he has admitted that he is afraid.
On the September 24 episode of WWE NXT, D’Angelo was shown training for the match. WWE then announced that D’Angelo will challenge Femi for the title on the October 8 episode of NXT, which will be held in Chesterfield, Missouri.
The Miz also invited D’Angelo and Femi to appear on Miz TV on the October 1 episode of NXT, and WWE confirmed the segment for the CW Network premiere.
