Meiko Satomura To Compete In Her First TJPW Match Since 2019

“The Final Boss” Meiko Satomura’s highly anticipated retirement run officially marks its first stop at TJPW All Rise ’24.

Mere moments prior to their Wrestle Princess V show this past September 22, TJPW took to their social media pages to break the news of Meiko Satomura’s in-ring return to their promotion. She will be teaming up with Shoko Nakajima against the duo of Miyu Yamashita and Princess of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe.

Meiko responded to the announcement of the tag match on her Twitter account saying that merely seeing Miyu Yamashita’s name as her opponent got her excited to compete. She also put the TJPW competitors on notice asking them to come prepared.

This upcoming match marks Meiko Satomura’s first match in TJPW in five years. She has only competed for the promotion twice, once in 2017 against Miyu Yamashita and the second in 2019 against Reika Saiki. She successfully won both singles matches, thus setting her at a 2-0 win-loss record in TJPW so far.

Meiko Satomura previously announced her plan to retire in April 2025 as it would mark her 30th year in the pro-wrestling business. As previously reported, she expressed her plan to have a retirement tour throughout Japan including her home promotion of Sendai Girls. “The Final Boss” also mentioned interest in wrestling elsewhere for her last year in the industry.
