The New Day is determined to get back on track on WWE RAW.
On the September 16 episode of WWE RAW, Xavier Woods was clearly frustrated after the New Day unsuccessfully challenged the Judgment Day for the WWE World Tag Team Championship. Woods said that something had to change. This setback came after weeks of mounting tension.
Woods appeared backstage on the September 23 episode of WWE RAW, and Kofi Kingston joined him. Kingston said that he had been doing a lot of thinking, and Woods apologized. He said that it was water under the bridge, but Woods had mentioned that they needed to get back on track before their ten-year anniversary. Kingston then brought out some Booty-O’s, a trombone, and some pancakes, as he highlighted what made them the New Day.
Kingston suggested that they could bring it all out for the fans, but Woods said that it might have been fine when they were on top, but they had not held titles in years. He noted that they had been losing, so they needed to get more serious. Kingston agreed and admitted that he had not been making good decisions lately. With that in mind, he said that Woods could call the shots for the New Day over the next few weeks. He said that Woods could be the quarterback.
American Made interrupted and mocked the New Day. Chad Gable called them has-beens. They went back and forth. Woods then challenged The Creed Brothers to face them later in the show, and Gable accepted.
