Janel Grant’s Attorney Responds To Vince McMahon’s Statement On Netflix Docuseries

Janel Grant’s attorney responds to Vince McMahon‘s statement.

In January, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, alleging that McMahon and Laurinaitis engaged in sexual assault and trafficking of her. McMahon and Laurinaitis denied the allegations, and McMahon resigned from WWE and TKO. McMahon is under investigation surrounding the allegations.

On September 23, Vince McMahon issued a statement about “Mr. McMahon”, the Netflix docuseries about him, and said that the documentary conflated the “Mr. McMahon” character with his true self. Regarding the documentary, he also stated that a lot was misrepresented or left out entirely

Ann Callis, attorney for Janel Grant, responded to Vince McMahon, via PR representative Kendra Barkoff Lamy, in a statement.

Janel Grant’s Attorney’s Statement

Callis’ statement is as follows:

“Vince McMahon physically and emotionally abused, sexually assaulted, and human trafficked Janel Grant for more than two years. Calling his horrific and criminal behavior “an affair” is delusional and nothing more than a sad thought attempt to save his shredded reputation. Although Ms. Grant has not seen the ‘Mr. McMahon’ docuseries, we hope it shines a bright light on his abhorrent and criminal actions by accurately portraying the realities of his abusive and exploitative behavior.

Ms. Grant will no longer be silenced by McMahon. Her story, though deeply troubling and exceptionally painful, is one that can help other abuse survivors find their voices. We seek to hold McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE accountable and to give Ms. Grant her day in court.”

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
