A new report provides an update on Hikuleo after he signed with WWE in July.
Hikuleo wrapped up with NJPW at NJPW Dominion on June 9. There, he and El Phantasmo lost the NJPW STRONG Tag Team Championship in a four-way match. Hikuleo reportedly joined WWE in July, per Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), but there was no word on his start date.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Hikuleo has been added internally to the NXT roster. This would seemingly suggest that he will start his WWE run in NXT. Many fans had been assuming that he would join the main roster right away. Hikuleo is a real-life member of The Bloodline, and his former NJPW stablemates Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa have both signed with WWE and joined the stable in 2024.
Hikuleo had been with NJPW since 2016. During his time with the company, he won the STRONG Openweight Championship, the IWGP Tag Team Championship, and the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship. He also competed for AEW and IMPACT through NJPW’s relationships with them.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
