Matt Hardy comments on Jeff Hardy paying tribute to Bray Wyatt.
Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, tragically passed away in August 2023. Over a year later, members of the wrestling world continue to pay tribute to him.
On the latest episode of TNA iMPACT!, Jeff Hardy paid tribute to Bray Wyatt with face paint that was clearly a nod to The Fiend.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt discussed Jeff Hardy’s tribute to Bray Wyatt.
“Yes, it was 100% inspired from The Fiend mask, and Jeff was like, ‘Hey, do you think this would be cool if I did it, kind of as a tribute?’ I said, ‘Yeah, man, it’d be awesome, it’d be great. It’d be very cool for your face paint,'” Matt Hardy said. “He’s done some stuff that was very skeleton-like as we approach Halloween season, and he said I want to try and pull this off.
“It was identical, the image that he used to do his face paint,” Matt Hardy said. “He paints it all himself, it was absolutely identical. It was unbelievably great, so it was cool. This was very cool that Jeff was able to pay his respects and honor The Fiend.”
Matt went on to note that Jeff wished he got to work with Bray Wyatt more during his time in WWE. He highlighted how Jeff wanted to interact with him during the time when he was paired up with Broken Matt. He also said that Jeff was interested in working with Wyatt during his Fiend run.
