Report: Update On Joe Hendry’s TNA Contract Status

A new report provides an update on TNA star Joe Hendry‘s contract status.

Throughout the summer and early fall, Joe Hendry appeared for WWE and TNA. He even headlined NXT No Mercy and challenged for the NXT Championship. This has led to some fans questioning his contract status and whether he could possibly sign with WWE at some point.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Hendry was a “substantial amount of time” remaining on his contract, and it is nowhere near up.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider previously reported that Hendry’s contract is believed to run through 2025.

Hendry has been with TNA since 2022; he made his re-debut at Bound For Glory. He previously competed for the company between 2018 and 2019. During his second run, he has won the Digital Media Championship.

Speaking with Matthew Aguilar for ComicBook, Hendry discussed the collaboration between WWE and TNA. He expressed his gratitude to both companies, as he made it clear that he appreciated his opportunities.

“I’m very grateful to TNA and WWE because TNA have allowed me to explore different avenues to build my brand and therefore help lift TNA’s brand as well,” Joe Hendry said. “I think that I’ve had a very good collaborative working relationship with TNA. So when I bring something to them that I’d like to do, or even they’ll bring something to me that they maybe think I could do, I think that myself and TNA have an opportunity to do historic business for the company.

“This is what I’ve always wanted to do in professional wrestling, is to have a spot like this, a spot that can help build the company, that can sell tickets, that can bring eyeballs to the product, just to make a positive contribution. So I’m very grateful that TNA are putting me in a position to do that.”

Hendry continued by saying that WWE had welcomed him with open arms, and he was grateful.

“I’m also very grateful that WWE has welcomed me with open arms as well,” Hendry said. “So TNA, they have worked collaboratively with WWE to bring us to a situation where right now. We now have a situation where TNA is working with WWE. So I am a TNA wrestler who is appearing on NXT and I’m training full-time at the performance center as well. So that is an unprecedented situation, and it’s one I’m very grateful for.”
