AEW Rampage Results (9/20): Mark Briscoe, Hikaru Shida, More

All Elite Wrestling is back again with another star-studded show with the September 20 episode of AEW Rampage.

Tonight, Wheeler Yuta will face off against The Butcher, in a warm up match of sorts before Yuta must rejoin his Trios Championship partners following a chaotic week for the superstar. Hikaru Shida and Harley Cameron will also face off, and a Four-Way Match between Kip Sabian, Lio Rush, Nick Wayne, and Rocky Romero is also planned.

Elsewhere in the night, Roderick Strong and The Beast Mortos will be in tag team action, and we’ll see some other previously unannounced action take place.

AEW Rampage Results

Match 1: Mark Briscoe defeats Bryan Keith via pinfall

Briscoe took the win in the opening match of the night, even after missing the Froggy Bow and taking a massive knee strike from Keith late in the match. However, he was able to take Keith down with a couple of lariats before hitting the Jay Driller for the pin and win.

After the match, Chris Jericho ran down to the ring and began attacking Briscoe with a baseball bat. Orange Cassidy quickly came down to save the day, but Big Bill followed soon after and dropped Cassidy with a boot. Kyle O’Reilly tried to get in and help but was also chokeslammed for his efforts, leaving The Learning Tree standing tall.

Match 2: Wheeler Yuta defeats The Butcher via submission

Yuta was able to get over any sort of issues he may have been dealing with internally to come away with a big win here ahead of his Trios Championship defense at AEW Grand Slam. In the end, Yuta was able to hit two massive German suplexes on Butcher, then lock in the Cattle Mutilation to force Butcher to tap out.

Match 3: Hikaru Shida defeats Harley Cameron via pinfall

Shida and Cameron put on a show here, absolutely going at it from the very start of the match. Shida looked to be in control for a bit, but Cameron was able to trip her up and throw her head first into the turnbuckle midway through the match.

After a couple of quick pin attempts from both superstars, things broke down as Saraya and Jamie Hayter both showed up to cause trouble. Saraya tried to get a kendo stick involved, but Hayter chased her off, and in the ensuing nonsense, Shida hit the Falcon Arrow for the win.

Afterward, Shida and Hayter walked off together. Saraya then came back to the ring to challenge Hayter to a match of Saraya’s Rules next week at Grand Slam, to which Hayter accepted.

Match 4: The Beast Mortos & Roderick Strong defeat Marcus Mathers & Joe Keys via pinfall

This one was over pretty much immediately, with the winning duo dominating things for a win.

Match 5: Nick Wayne defeats Kip Sabian, Lio Rush & Rocky Romero via pinfall

The four-way match that served as the main event was filled with incredibly athletic maneuvers left and right. Things eventually came to an end after Wayne and Sabian found themselves alone in the ring together, and began exchanging a flurry of punches back and forth. Sabian ducked out of a Wayne’s World attempt and hit a big suplex on him.

Romero and Rush got back into the ring, and Wayne cut Rush in mid-air as he attempted a flying move. Sabian then hit his finisher on Romero, but Wayne stole the win by throwing Sabian out of the ring to pin Romero and then spit at Sabian.
