Steph De Lander Picks Matt Cardona’s Poison For Upcoming TNA Taping

One of the most notable match stipulations in the history of professional wrestling is the Pick Your Poison match. It is a match that usually helps elevate a rivalry without the two stars wrestling each other one-on-one. Both wrestlers involved in the feud will pick a wrestler of their choice to wrestle their rival.

TNA Wrestling recently announced the return of the Pick Your Poison match. Steph De Lander picked a poison of her choice for the self-proclaimed Indie God, Matt Cardona, who she’s been at odds with in TNA.

The Pick Your Poison event will be making its return on the 28th of September. The event will take place in Spartanburg, South Carolina at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. De Lander has revealed that she had chosen the current TNA Wrestling World Champion Nic Nemeth to wrestle Cardona.

“BREAKING: Pick Your Poison RETURNS! @StephDeLander has chosen @NicTNemeth to go head-to-head with @TheMattCardona in Spartanburg on Saturday, September 28!” TNA tweeted.

Steph De Lander is currently sidelined due to an injury. She revealed at TNA Victory Road that she requires neck surgery.

Is there a doctor in the house?

Nic’s brother, Ryan Nemeth, spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to promote the launch of The Nemeth Bros podcast. Ryan shared a story highlighted in the first episode that involved a “fake doctor” prank they pulled while in WWE’s former developmental territory.

“I pranked the entire roster and coaching staff into believing that, live over the phone during the promo class, my great-grandmother had a stroke and died. And I enlisted Nic [to portray] the fake doctor on the other end of the phone,” Ryan explained. “And this played over the whole arena sound speakers. I feel so evil laughing about this, but enough time has been removed and she didn’t really have a stroke and die over the phone. That was a prank.

“So, that’s something I have been keeping a secret for about ten years. And it felt good like, ‘All right. Enough time has passed. I can confess what really happened here,” he added. “Nic helped me, and he barely remembered it. And I’m like, ‘Yeah dude. You were the fake doctor.’”
