Will Ospreay has some words for Ricochet ahead of their match in two weeks.
The Englishman will defend the AEW International Championship against Ricochet on the fifth anniversary of AEW Dynamite. This is a rematch from their epic Best of the Super Juniors match in 2016, and has been highly anticipated for nearly a decade.
After picking up the win on AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay spoke with Kyle Fletcher backstage about his upcoming match with Ricochet.
The AEW International Champion said that they are different people from their famous clash eight years ago. He challenged Ricochet to “bring everything you’ve got”, before listing the top-class wrestlers he’s already beaten for the title.
Will Ospreay ended by claiming Ricochet is not on his level, and he has something to prove against him.
“I’ve got to defend this belt against Ricochet” Will Ospreay told Kyle Fletcher. “We are completely different people to where we were eight years ago when we had that match in the Best of the Super Juniors. And you try to “little bro” me? Boss, who are you trying to kid? Mate, you might have been on this six-year hiatus, right. Six years? I’ve changed the game. I’m not the same person that I was eight years ago, son.”
“I ain’t got to prove nothing to no-one. If anything, you’ve got to prove something to me. So I dare you Ricochet to bring everything you’ve got to the Five-Year Anniversary, because everyone has found out. MJF and Pac. There’s a reason why there isn’t a list, because there is no-one, and I mean no-one, on my level, boss!”
