AEW Dynamite Results (9/18/24): Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy, Young Bucks, Ricochet, More

All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the September 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Among other matches, Chris Jericho faced Orange Cassidy. Plus, the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada faced Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher, and Konosuke Takeshita.

The results are as follows:

AEW Dynamite Results

Jon Moxley and Darby Allin are both shown watching backstage.

Orange Cassidy (with Mark Briscoe and Kyle O’Reilly) vs. Chris Jericho (with Big Bill and Bryan Keith)

All six men start brawling right away. Jericho and Cassidy are left alone. Cassidy dives onto Bill and Keith at ringside. Briscoe takes everyone out with a dive. Cassidy drills Jericho with an Orange Punch. He dives onto Cassidy at ringside. Jericho and Cassidy brawl at ringside. Back in the ring, Cassidy splashes onto Jericho with a two-count. Jericho catches Cassidy and puts him in the Walls. He hits Cassidy with a running powerslam.

Cassidy rallies, but Jericho knocks him off the apron and down to the floor. Jericho slams Cassidy into the barricade. Jericho and Cassidy trade blows. A Lionsault earns Jericho a two-count. Cassidy hits a Stun-dog Millionaire and slams Jericho with a Michinoku Driver. Jericho catches a diving Cassidy and sends him crashing into the barricade. Jericho slams Cassidy through a table at ringside.

Back in the ring, Jericho and Cassidy keep battling. Both men are down after a clothesline. They continue trading strikes. Cassidy gains the upper hand, but Jericho clothesline.

Cassidy rallies again. Jericho traps him in the Walls again. Big Bill interferes and hits Cassidy. O’Reilly makes the save and brawls with Big Bill. Cassidy rolls up Jericho for a two-count. Jericho hits Death Valley Driver. Cassidy drops Jericho with a DDT. He spikes Jericho with a DDT. Cassidy gets a two-count with another DDT. Jericho hits a Codebreaker. Cassidy slams Jericho again. Bryan Keith runs in, but Mark Briscoe brawls with him. Cassidy takes a roll of quarters from Jericho and hits the Orange Punch for the win.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

Backstage, PAC calls out Wheeler Yuta, saying its time to come to work because they have a title match next week. Claudio Castagnoli says he’s not mad, he’s just disappointed. He tells Yuta to show up next week. Jon Moxley says he believes that Yuta has the strength to do what he wants, but he’s free to leave. He says Yuta has an obligation to the greater good.

Wheeler Yuta is interviewed, and he says it’s a lot to handle, but he’s worked his whole career for an opportunity. He says if Bryan Danielson taught him anything, you don’t change who you are just because those around you are changing. Yuta says he’ll defend the trios titles next week.

HOOK In Action

HOOK vs. JD Ink

Roderick Strong joins the commentary team. HOOK drops Ink with a stiff shot and suplexes him. He continues to dominate the action and makes Ink tap out to the Redrum.

Winner: HOOK

HOOK stares down Roderick Strong at the commentary table.

Backstage, Private Party seemingly accepts the challenge for the trios titles next week.

Christian Cage and The Partiarchy are interviewed, and Cage is asked about his world title shot. Cage says Nick Wayne will compete on AEW Rampage, and this will be the start of his road to glory. He says that he wants to hold gold at the same time as Wayne. Kip Sabian interrupts, and Cage confronts him. He threatens to put Sabian in the dirt with his father.

Mariah May And Serena Deeb Team Up

Mariah May & Serena Deeb vs. Yuka Sakazaki & Queen Aminata

Deeb and Sakazaki start the bout and feel each other out. They trade pin attempts, and they’re evenly matched. Sakazaki drills Deeb with a kick. Aminata tags in and double-teams Deeb with Yuka. Deeb hits Aminata with a Dragon Screw into the ropes. May tags in and grounds Aminata. She controls the action. Deeb and May work together to maintain the advantage. Aminata rallies and tags Sakazaki.

Sakazaki fires up with a flurry of offense. May dumps her with a German suplex. Deeb drops Aminata with a German suplex. Sakazaki slams Deeb. She dives onto everyone at ringside. Sakazaki hits a springboard splash, and May breaks up the pin by hitting her with the title. The referee calls for the bell.

Winners via DQ: Yuka Sakazaki & Queen Aminata

May whips Sakazaki with the title. May stands tall.

Mina Shirakawa responds to Mariah May, saying she doesn’t know if she likes who she has become. She says she wants Mariah May in her heart, and if she wants to celebrate, then Mina is coming.

The broadcast team discusses AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam and says Bryan Danielson’s condition is in doubt. A video package highlights Nigel McGuinness’s history with Bryan Danielson.

In-Ring Segment: Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Marina Shafir come to the ring through the crowd. Private Party attacks Moxley, Castagnoli, and PAC, and they brawl. Moxley and his group take control. Castagnoli hits Marq Quen with a choke-breaker. Shafir joins the attack, and the faction continues to beat up Private Party. Komander shows up and takes the fight to Castagnoli. Castagnoli drills him with an uppercut. Moxley brings out a toolbox.

Moxley says he could end Private Party’s careers, but he won’t do that. He says Private Party is in the same spot now as they were five years ago. He says he’s going to give them an obstacle to overcome. Moxley smashes Kassidy’s hand with a hammer.

Darby Allin makes the save. Moxley leaves the ring, and Allin says he will run through Moxley. Allin vows to become the next AEW World Champion.

Ricochet Battles The Beast Mortos

Ricochet vs. The Beast Mortos

Ricochet takes the fight to Mortos. Mortos drives him into the corner and overpowers him. Ricochet evades Mortos, sending him to the outside, and dives onto him. They trade fast-paced counters, and the match is a stalemate. Ricochet dives onto Mortos but gets caught and slammed onto the apron. Back in the ring, Mortos grounds Ricochet. Ricochet rallies, but Mortos hits a pop-up Samoan drop. Ricochet gets rocked with a headbutt. He sends Mortos over the ropes. Ricochet dives onto Mortos at ringside, and both men are down after a Code Red on the floor.

Mortos slams Ricochet off the top rope.

Ricochet fires up with a crucifix bomb and an axe kick. He hits the Vertigo for the win.

Winner: Ricochet

In-Ring Segment: “Hangman” Adam Page

Page is asked about his win over Swerve Strickland and his warning to anyone who supported Swerve. He says he knew there would be a day when Strickland was gone, and he knew that many others would need to pay for supporting Strickland. He targets the fans for cheering for Strickland but says someone else supported Swerve. He turns on Tony Schiavone and gets in his face, but Jeff Jarrett comes out.

Jarrett tries to brawl with Page, but Hangman takes control and starts attacking him. Officials hold them back, but Jarrett attacks Page again until they’re separated again. Jarrett says he wants to beat the hell out of Page and vows to kick his ass.

Ricochet is asked about his win, but Will Ospreay interrupts. Ricochet says he’s been getting wins, just like Ospreay said. He says everyone seems worried about him, not Ospreay. Ricochet says he will be facing Ospreay for the title on October 2. He tells Ospreay he’ll see him soon and calls him “little bro.”

Will Ospreay Battles The Young Bucks In Trios Action

Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita vs. The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) & Kazuchika Okada

Fletcher and Nicholas start the match and feel each other out. Ospreay and Fletcher double-team him. Okada tags in and squares off with Okada. They lock up and feel each other out. Takeshita tags himself in. The Elite take control, but Ospreay and his teammates dive onto them.

The Young Bucks isolate Ospreay and ground him. Ospreay rallies and tags Fletcher, who clears house with a flurry of offense. Okada tags in and takes control, but Fletcher slams him. Takeshita tags in and gains the upper hand with a clothesline and a Brainbuster. The Young Bucks knock Ospreay and Fletcher off the apron. Fletcher, Ospreay, and Takeshita rally. Bodies are flying as the match breaks down in chaos. Okada drops Takeshita with a neckbreaker.

The Young Bucks ground Takeshita. Takeshita rallies and tags Ospreay, who fires up with a flurry of offense. The Young Bucks superkick Ospreay. They gang up on him, but Fletcher takes the fight to them. Ospreay gets a two-count after a spinebuster. Okada drops Fletcher with a flapjack and dropkicks Takeshita. Takeshita hits him with a Blue Thunder Bomb. He dives onto Okada at ringside. Fletcher hits a tombstone. Ospreay hits the Hidden Blade on Nicholas. Ospreay and Fletcher pin Matthew for the win.

Winners: Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita
