Drew McIntyre was very happy with Roxanne Perez’s promo with CM Punk on NXT.
CM Punk appeared in the ring with the NXT Women’s Champion on NXT’s debut on the CW Network last night. Perez is a long-time CM Punk supporter, and has spoken at length about her admiration for the former WWE Champion.
However, that all came to an end on NXT. She interrupted the Best in the World, quipping that she always preferred AJ Lee over Punk. Roxanne Perez then cut deep, saying that she should have been a Drew McIntyre fan.
The NXT Women’s Champion added that CM Punk just wanted “One more moment of glory” before Drew McIntyre ends his career in their Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood.
“I just wanted to tell you that I finally realized… I should have been a Drew McIntyre fan. And I know why you’re here. I know exactly why you want to show up in Chicago. That’s because you want one last moment of glory before Drew McIntyre ends your career.”
“Just stay home, Punk. Just stay home with Larry. I don’t want you there. I don’t need you there. Maybe everyone else wants CM Punk there, but I don’t. Because when I beat Giulia, Chicago’s not going to be your town anymore. It’s going to be mine.”
Drew McIntyre responded to this clip directly on Twitter. The former WWE Champion said he was proud of Roxanne Perez, calling the “you’re my wrestling daughter” shtick her and CM Punk had going on “BS”.
“None of this ‘you’re my wrestling daughter’ bs Only freaks do that. I’m just very proud of you @roxanne_wwe“
