Moose already knows when he wants to hang up the boots and retire from pro wrestling.
TNA Wrestling‘s Moose was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast. When asked if he’s trying to build a legacy in pro wrestling at Victory Road against Nic Nemeth, Moose praised the current champion and said he hopes when he retires in five years that his name will be synonymous with TNA.
“Yeah, I mean, obviously Nic is one of the greats,” Moose admitted. “Just being in there with him definitely raises my stock. [It] raises the stock of the company that we could put two stellar guys in front of the world and have them do their thing. And a goal of mine, one of the reasons why I’ve always stayed and never left to go test the waters elsewhere, is because when I’m done and hang the boots up, I want my name to be synonymous to TNA.
“Right now when you say those three letters, the name everybody thinks of first is AJ Styles. And five years from now, once I hang the boots up because that’s when I’m planning on hanging the boots up once my current deal is up, I want my name to be the first name people think about when they hear TNA.”
Moose plans to retire from pro wrestling in 2029
When asked if they just got a scoop about his impending retirement, Moose said that’s his current plan as he wants to enjoy the money he’s made in football and wrestling.
“Yeah, I mean, that’s the plan,” Moose said. “I’m not one of those guys that want to keep wrestling til he’s 50 and 60. No, I want to hang those boots up and ride to the sunset and enjoy some of this money I made with pro wrestling and pro football.”
Moose is scheduled to challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship tonight at Victory Road.
