Ricochet Denies Being Jealous Of Will Ospreay, Says ‘We’ve Been In Contact’ The Whole Time

Ricochet does not feel jealously over what Will Ospreay achieved since their iconic match.

The pair faced off at the BOSJ Tournament in 2016, in a match that went down in history.

Since that bout, Ricochet and Will Ospreay took very different paths in their careers. Ricochet moved to the WWE and spent years in the promotion, while Will Ospreay remained in NJPW and became a world heavyweight champion in Japan.

Ricochet appeared on the Battleground Podcast, and was asked if there was any professional jealously between himself and Will Ospreay.

The new AEW star denied that, and revealed that the pair had been in contact throughout his time in the WWE.

He added that he and Ospreay have also competed, while also being there for each other. Ricochet is excited to get to wrestle the Englishman, and express their friendship to the masses.

“I don’t think anybody is jealous of anybody in the wrestling business, really. I mean, I’m sure there are, but again, my core—my people, my circle, the people that I’m around—nobody is jealous of anybody. And again, I’m sure there are egos and there are people. But as far as we go, we’ve been in contact basically the whole time.”

“A lot of the guys over here at AEW, we’ve been in contact the whole time—it never changed. So that kind of helped make the transition a little easier, because we’ve always been in contact. That kind of helped too.”

“But yeah, me and Will, we’ve always been there. We’ve always, whether it’s competed or just talked, whatever, but we’ve always been there for each other. And now we just get to express it, you know, on a bigger stage. We get to finally express it to the masses, I would say.”
