Darby Allin and Jon Moxley will clash in a high-stakes match at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
Moxley has been on a mission in recent weeks, as he has aligned with PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Marina Shafir. He attacked AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson at AEW All Out, and on the September 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, he said that he chose war. Moxley had previously called out Darby Allin, and Allin answered on Wednesday night.
Allin called out Moxley, who came to the ring. Allin made it clear that he had wanted to be like Moxley, but that was no longer the case after what he did to Danielson. Moxley said that Allin’s scheduled world title match at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam wouldn’t be happening because Danielson was “indisposed.” He told Allin to give him his world title shot, and Allin responded by telling Moxley to earn it.
Moxley challenged him to a match at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, and he said he would teach Allin a lesson. He also stated that Allin would never be AEW World Champion, Allin accepted the challenge, and the broadcast team then confirmed the match.
Allin previously earned a world title shot by winning the Royal Rampage on the July 26 episode of AEW Dynamite.
