Rhea Ripley revealed her thoughts behind doing the Stink Face to Nia Jax.
Earlier this year, Rhea Ripley faced off with Nia Jax at a live event. She hit Rikishi‘s famous Stink Face move in the corner, which garnered a huge reaction from the live audience and went viral.
Over three million people saw the clip on YouTube, with more viewing it on social media. It was a huge thing for Rhea Ripley, but one that she was unsure about while in the ring.
Rhea Ripley appeared on Ring The Belle, where she was asked about the infamous “Stink Face” spot with Nia Jax.
She noted that she was unsure about doing the move while in the ring, but eventually decided to do it anyway. Rhea Ripley added that Nia Jax secretly loved it, contrary to what she looked like in the ring.
“A lot of things were going through my head. ‘I was like, am I going to do it? No, I’m not going to do it. Am I going to do it? No, I’m not going to do it.’ You know what? I’m going to do it. And then while I was doing it, I was like, ‘I’m so self-conscious, I can’t believe I’m doing it.’ [Nia] secretly loved it. She looks mad, but she loved it. She loved every single second of it.”
Rhea Ripley Tells Critics To Shut Up
Rhea Ripley was asked about her response to those who criticized the stink face spot. Her response was simple and effective.
“Shut up! Honestly, like, it’s real funny because I get criticism for every single little thing that I do. But you see the men doing this, and you’re like, ‘Yeah, that looks cool, amazing.'”
“Tiffany Stratton does this the other week, and they’re like, ‘Oh my God, I love you, Tiff! Oh my God, you’re so sexy, please do that to me!’ But when I do it, there’s a problem. Why? You’re just mad that I’m popular.”
