WWE SmackDown Draws Lowest Viewership Since December 2023, Still Ranks First

WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on September 6.

According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.77 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.45 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership number is down from last week’s episode, when an average of 2.05 million viewers tuned in.

The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.53 rating in the same demographic. 

Both the total and the demographic marked SmackDown’s lowest numbers since the December 29, 2023, episode. This also marked SmackDown’s second-least-watched episode during its run on FOX.

SmackDown was up against AEW Collision on Friday, and it still ranked #1 in the demographic on broadcast on Friday. SmackDown was also up against an NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers.

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Cody Rhodes having a face-to-face with Solo Sikoa. They will face each other in a steel cage match next week on SmackDown for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Bayley returned to in-ring action defeating Money in the Bank holder Tiffany Stratton.

Elsewhere on the show, Kevin Owens defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in a triple threat match. KO will face them next week in a tag match with a mystery partner.

The main event saw The Bloodline defeat Street Profits and DIY in an eight-man tag to end the show.
