Tomohiro Ishii‘s time in AEW has seemingly come to an end, at least for the time being.
On the September 6 episode of AEW Collision, Chris Jericho and his Learning Tree stablemates Big Bill and Bryan Keith spoke backstage ahead Keith’s match against Orange Cassidy. Jericho said that it was time for Ishii to go back to Japan, and it wasn’t the right time to wrestle him again in AEW. Big Bill noted that time ran out for every man. Keith chimed in that time ran out for every man, especially “this one.” The camera panned down to show Ishii, who had been laid out, and a chair was wrapped around his neck. Officials then checked on Ishii.
Ishii is signed to NJPW, but he spent the summer with AEW. He aligned with The Conglomeration and often teamed up with the group. Ishii last wrestled for AEW on the August 31 episode of AEW Collision, where he lost to Kyle Fletcher.
The NJPW Road to Destruction tour began on September 6, and Ishii competed at the event.
