Cody Rhodes is ready to usher in the new era of WWE SmackDown in a major way.
During tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown — which is the final episode of the series being aired on FOX — Rhodes confirmed that he would defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa next week, when SmackDown premieres on the USA Network.
The moment came as Rhodes appeared in the ring to address the recent comments Solo Sikoa had made about him. Rhodes first tried to break up The Bloodline by getting Jacob Fatu to accept a title match instead of Sikoa, but Fatu denied the opportunity, declaring his loyalty to the new “Tribal Chief.”
After the match was agreed to, however, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis added a surprising wrinkle. He said he was tired of The Bloodline getting involved in things, and as a result, the match next week would be a Steel Cage Match.
