MVP: The Hurt Business Is Dead, I’m Talking To Bobby Lashley And Shelton Benjamin

MVP teases what’s next.

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley left WWE in August as his contract expired, and MVP entered free agency as well when his deal came up. WWE released Shelton Benjamin in a round of cuts in September, and fans have often hoped to see the Hurt Business get back together in some capacity. There have been some teases of a potential reunion, and MVP has hinted that most of the group is considering their next move.

During a K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, MVP stated that the Hurt Business was dead. However, he said that he, Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin were talking about what they wanted to do. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“The Hurt Business is dead and it was killed off by the powers that be,” he said. “Myself, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin are talking amongst ourselves about what we want to do going forward. Stay tuned.”

During the signing, MVP said that he “thinks” that former Hurt Business member Cedric Alexander had signed a new deal with WWE. Alexander recently moved to NXT and has been a featured member of the roster.

MVP recently said that his knee was pain-free after stem cell treatment. He has made it clear that he wants to return to the ring.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
